My Teacher, My Hero
Behind those engineers, doctors and architects that
are serving our community at their best, there are special people who trained
them and molded to become who they are now, our teachers. Without them, imagine
there will be no professionals, right? It sounds funny but it’s true. They act like your second parents, probably because
you are with them for at least 10 hours a day. Teaching, counseling you, scolding
you or even ride with your jokes and laughs with you. There is one teacher I
consider a close friend and she guided me when I turned in the wrong road and
led me back to the right path.
She was my Science I teacher when I was
in 1st year high school. I call her, Ma’am Pareja. How can I
describe her, hmm. Let say that she is smart, gentle, and analytic but many
students in my school consider her as a terror. But for me, I find her funny
and a very humorous person. She made me realize that being a happy go lucky
person can get you to trouble. Being analytic and humble are her favorite
traits from a student, but obviously, I do not have those traits. One day, she
approached me and told me that she will talk to me. I’m a little bit nervous
that time so I cannot say a word. She told me that everything on this world
will bloom someday if it doesn’t stop believing in his self. That very line
took my heart and curved its place inside my head. From that day, I’m always
motivated by that very line that she said to me.
She told me things that I am taking care
of and keeping it as a motivation. She is the first teacher who told me that I
have a potential to grow. In this country, we are motivated by someone or
something that can lead you to success and can drive you to a better
performance. Is it nice that someone who you admire and looked up gave you and
inspired you with her words of wisdom. She, Emelinda L. Pareja is my Teacher
and my Hero.
