To be or not to be, that is the question

Whether this human in the night stays bright

Or lose his temper and starts rage of revenge

To take the life of a power-hungry king

To be or not to be, that is the question

To overwhelm the power of an oppressive father

To fight for love that is impossible to have

And to fight against a poisonous sword

To be or not to be, that is the question

To die with your mother’s body gasping

What an ending to this tragic non-fairytale story

Please live and tell them my journey for eternity

Comedy of Errors

            Simply by reading the title, it will give you a hint in what the novel is all about. Comedy of Errors are one of the shortest plays of William Shakespeare that has 16 258 words. A humorous play that live your mind blowing because this one is a really confusing play, believe me. This is all about a story of two pairs of twin brothers that were separated and tried to find their lost brother. A entertaining story that has a true meaning as you swim through the words.

       At first, I am not confused about this story and I think that this play should be humorous. But when the play sets its rising action, I was confused with the characters and became disappointed because this is not becoming humorous at all. As the story goes on, I caught the humorous part. I started wondering about few things. As the play ended in a “Happy Ever After”, I just smiled and appreciated the play. What mind does William Shakespeare has because he thought about a story a two pairs of twins and makethe one pair servants just to make fun. And the lines itself and the setting is funny. The exchange of lines between the servant and Antipholus, it is so funny. Nothing less but full of good things and the play even displayed a simple love affair between the couple that was separated for a long time. This story was all in! I never read and watched this kind of story before but this proves that Shakespeare is a true artist.

`     Overall, I think that Comedy of Errors is magnificent! The combination of humor and a little bit of romance, it’s a unique masterpiece. Hope this play already inspired other writers and directors to just create movies and novels that are touching to the heart. For some people, I think they cannot appreciate the message of the story, but in some ways there is a little hole in your heart that the message of this play will go through and live beyond your veins.

NCAE, the First Step to Success

Everyone in this world wants a good future ahead of them. The Department of Education wants students make the right choice of choosing the right course to choose. They created the NCAE to help third year students to choose the perfect fit coarse to them by taking a series of different tests to know which subject you are inclined and what is your interest. For me, this is important to all students especially to those students who didn’t know what to take up for college. Students should take this test seriously for it might help them in a lot of ways.

In the 29^th of August, all third year high school students in all schools took up the National Career Assessment Examination or NCAE. Teachers from all schools went to other schools to be the proctor for the examinees. As I went to my room, I set to my mind that I will take up the test seriously because even now, I don’t know what course to take up and I thought that the NCAE will help me decide in what subject I am inclined to and what course I am interested in. Since childhood, I want to be an architect but as I grew up, I have lots of interests and now, I didn’t know what to choose. When the tests start, I answered each item carefully and I analyzed the problem thoroughly to ensure my answers. When I finished one of the tests and there was a little time remaining, I suddenly imagined that I am an engineer or an architect. My lips smiled and colors went up to my mind. When the whole examination ended, I took my bag and went out of the room. As I was walking home, I wondered what would be the result of my exam. What course I will take up in college, and where my future will take me.

This NCAE is constantly helping me in all my decisions about my future. The Department of Education did a great job in thinking of it and making the questions in the exams. I am sure that many of the examinees will be helped by this project and will have a great future ahead of them. May this project continue and still help the upcoming examinees for their decisions and ambition in life.

Intramurals 2012, Go Red Bayern!

               
  As for me, the intramurals is the most awaited event each year in my high school life. This year, in my junior year, we are the team RED BAYERN. All are excited as the start of intramurals is nearly coming. The spirit of it is felt by everyone in the campus. All are talking about it and the teams are pumping up to the start of the games. I am wishing that this will be one of the most memorable events in my high school life.

          In the last week of August, the CNSHS Intramurals 2012 is held. At the start I am so amused with the cheers and performances of each of the representatives of each year level for the mass demo. The first games are held in the first day but I am not feeling well for this first day because I didn’t play because the basketball court is not dry cause’ the weather is not bearing with us. But in the second day, all became in favor of us. All played in the championship of the volleyball against the sophomores, Yellow Madrid. It was a decisive game. But in the end, with our team work, we fight against all the odds and won the prestigious title. Right after the celebration, I ran to the court as hey announced that the game for basketball boys will start. We fought against the seniors but we failed to defeat them as the time expired and the score was 48-46 in favor of the Blue Chelsea. I was disappointed to myself because I knew that I didn’t do my best to win. But I gathered all the disappointments and brought it in out game against the freshmen. We did our very best; all was clicking for our team. I buried 3 three-pointers together with 5 lay-ups, 2 steals, dished 4 assists and took 3 rebounds. It was an all-round effort for us to cruise and won with a big lead.

           In the end of the intramurals, all was in good vibes because we all had a good time. All was satisfied with their performances. The awarding ceremony was held after the last game and the champions are all crowned. By now, we didn’t know yet who the overall champions are. All was preparing now for the start of the classes and waiting for the next intramurals

Fluency in English or Mastery of the Mother Tongue

             The way of communicating to other people is important to sharpen our social life. Many languages are made in different countries for they have their own language. But fluency in English must be observed because it is the universal language. In applying for work and in the school, English is always used. When you look at many magazines and newspaper, you cannot be a good worker or an office man if you don’t know how to speak in English fluently. As for me, both fluency in English and mastery of the native tongue are important in being a good speaker.  

             Every citizen in this world needs fluency in English as for it is the worldwide language. You can communicate to other nationalities by simply speaking the English language. While our mother tongue is important for us because this is the first language learned by your ancestors and your parents. Now in the modern world, many say that English is more important than our native tongue because without it, we cannot succeed in life or have a great life. But some says that our mother tongue is important because without the mastery of it, we cannot learn new languages because foreign languages are based and translated in our native tongue like English, without our mother tongue, we cannot understand meanings and we cannot translate then understand the meanings of English sentences. As for me, both are important in their own ways. Every language has a purpose in their creation. Language is important to express your feelings and say statements in many ways.

            As for us, citizens, our language is important to us as it is a part of our history. You cannot compare two languages that the origin and purpose of creation. It is a part of one country’s history. For good, learn new languages and origin of it to appreciate more ideas and its country’s culture. In learning new languages, one should understand the purpose of it and its importance to its owner country.
